Scourge is a five-piece Christian modern-rock band from Fort Smith, Arkansas. They have a sound somewhat akin to bands like Creed, Stone Temple Pilots, Filter, etc. Although they have a heavy alternative sound, they take the message of the Gospel of Christ serious. At every show, participants are challenged with the Gospel of Jesus Christ with personal testimonies, Bible references, and prayer time. They have ministered to both Christian and non-Christian alike. Challenging the Christian to a more solid, consistent walk with Christ, and challenging the non-believer to seek the validity of the claims of Christ, and ultimately finding a relationship with Him. If you need the Gospel conveyed to a group of young people that need someone they can relate to, Scourge is an answer you may wish to look into. The amount of $$ it takes to bring these guys in is negotiable. They are seeking ministry as a first priority. Many churches expect to give bands like this a few bucks, and say "thanks." This is an unfortunate mind-set, in which a church cannot be blessed, because they refuse to bless others. When a guest evangelist comes in he usually has no equipment, no overhead - maybe travel expenses. It takes a lot more for a band. They have not only travel expenses, but sound equipment, music gear, and tapes and discs to pay for. $50 doesn't even pay for their gas in some instances. If you decide to have Scourge come and minister, please pray and ask the Lord how much $$ you should give. We want the Lord's will above all else. |
